KICK STARTING CAREERS IN MUSIC.

Musicians from every metro, regional and rural high school across Australia are being given an opportunity like never before, the chance of scoring a recording deal with Sony Music Entertainment to the value of $50,000 as well as being included in the lineup at Australia’s biggest touring music festival the Big Day Out 2012 all thanks to MySchoolAct, powered by Motorola.

MySchoolAct is an online music and talent competition exclusively created for Australian high school students with a passion for the music industry. MySchoolAct supports the music infrastructure within schools and is FREE to enter.

We welcome music, and musical performances, from every genre, so whether you’ve got a rock band, a hip hop crew, classical ensemble, 20-piece jazz group or you go it alone, we want to hear (and see) what you do no matter whether it's a cover of your favourite song or a fresh new original.

How does it work?

If you're a band or soloist, just sign-up to MySchoolAct, upload your video or MP3 and start spreading the word far and wide to build your fan base.

MySchoolAct will score each entry on a combination of factors: the size of your fanbase and the level of interaction on your profile page (i.e. plays of your entry and geniune profile comments). For more details of scoring go to the Competition Points Allocation.

At the end of STAGE ONE of the competition, 10 Finalists will be selected: 8 Finalists with the highest point score and 2 Wildcards (Acts who didn't get the points but had something special about their entry).

The judges will then chose the Final Five, who will be flown to Sydney for the Grand final Workshop.

For the talented people behind the scenes

MySchoolAct isn’t just about the performers. No one makes it in the music industry on their own and we’re all about collaboration and celebrating the crew behind the scenes that make it happen.

Individual musicians and support team members are also eligible to win full first year scholarships in Film Production, Audio Engineering and Design and Multimedia from SAE Institute and Qantm College.

To go in the running for one of these amazing scholarships just get involved with supporting a MySchoolAct entry by either producing a Music Video, producing a music track or being the mind behind some great artwork. Then apply for your chosen SAE or Qantm scholarship.
