Calais is an emerging Brisbane rock band delivering music with creative melodies, driving rhythms and emotive lyrics influenced by the Kings of Leon, U2, Muse and Led Zeppelin.
Calais is Tim Lollback and Guy Stacey on vocals and rhythm guitar, Liam Roberts on bass, Will Mogg on drums, and Joe Fleming on lead guitar. The band formed in early 2010 primarily to enter Brisbane's Rockschool Challenge band competition, which they won. In a relatively short time they have written several songs that showcase not only their precocious talent as song writers but also their skill as musicians. Six of these songs appear as tracks on their recently recorded debut EP.
"The amazing thing about Calais is not their fantastic musicianship, nor is it the fresh new sounding song structure. No, the amazing thing about Calais is that they are all still students. These guys have come along and delivered a sound far beyond their years with some of the musical passages reminiscent of 70's prog rock, but with a much more direct modernized approach. There are many mature bands who have been recording for years that would love to sound this good."

Calais has played gigs and local festivals with acts such as The Cairos, Little Scout, The Boat People, Vasy Mollo, Finabah, Flicks, Freak Morice, After Opening, Grape Soda, Black Mustang and recently supported Wolfmother.
