Daisy

This week I thought I’d venture deep into the charts to shine some light. I ended up so deep that if it were Animal Planet there’d be those bizarre fish with lights dangling over their blind eyes and crazy bonkers faces.

I’m amazed that actually found you Daisy from WA but I’m glad I did. No photo, no profile, no video, just one fan that put you at #2. That, and one other very important thing. A golden little MP3 called ‘Flatline’.

Thankfully there’re lots we can take away from the music, a lovely fragile voice and a really interesting little song. Soothing sound-scapey guitars, a La Jose Gonzales to open the track and lull throughout, from there an echoey, sweet vocal joins in that reminds me of a Juanita Stein from the Howling Bells or maybe a little Julia from Angus and Julia Stone.

It’s difficult to distinguish at times, and I have no idea of what you’re trying to say but I was never one for lyrics particularly, so a little mystery there won’t hurt. The recording’s rudimentary and the mix is all over the place, so much so that the lone maraca takes over the song at one point. It’s all secondary though, there’s some talent there for sure Daisy and I’d love to hear more of what you’ve got. Now that I think about it, it’d be nice to maybe see a video. Read a profile, hell, how about a photo. Come on girl! I was searching so deep I nearly didn’t make it back.
