Just saw the final five as chosen by the “commitee of experts”.
How is it that when you first look at the web site there is no reference to the 1 & only band from Victoria actually being introduced as Victorian, then once the “committee’s” final 5 is announced & the 1 & only band from Victoria don’t even make the finals ????? Showing absolute bias against bands from Victoria regardless of how good other bands are / where. Really dissappointed when band members are given a “glimmer of hope” based on what the public consider to be the best bands then the “experts” seem to not even take that opinion into consideration & 2 wildcarts make the final 5 ahead of them.
What (other than the votes of the public) do the other 7 bands get from the “committe of experts” & the competiton organizers for all the work they’ve put into the competiton just in case they were lucky enough to make the top 5 & get a trip to Sydney to possibly make the top 3 ?????
Would be great if the public vote had / has some impact on what the experts consider to be the top 5 !
If the competiton is truly national how does the final 5 not even end up with a national “flavour” to it ????
Guess there’s some looking over the rules that may need to be considered going into another season of this competition?
Tom, thanks for your comment. We actually have Acts from NSW, WA and QLD. Just because we don’t have any Acts from VIC doesn’t mean we don’t have a national flavor. And what about the BDO prize, there will be a winner from VIC for that. Or isn’t the BDO prize good enough for you? I think you need to view the competition as a winner for music and not a loser for your favorite Act.
