Become a HERO for your school and your band with local Community sponsorship.
Self Sponsorship means more competition points; up to 5,000 Points for your Act and the chance to raise up to $5,000 for your school to spend on musical instruments and equipment.
Each Act has been allocated 20 Sponsorship Spots each valued at $250 (250 points)
Not only will Sponsors help boost your Act up the leader board Sponsorship dollars will go towards buying musical instruments and equipment for your school. Sponsors will also expose their business to potentially thousands of MySchoolAct Fans.

MySchoolAct Self Sponsorship is a GREAT opportunity for everyone in your community to get behind your Act. Here are some handy hints and ideas on getting sponsored.
Consider enlisting support from the following:
- Local Businesses, shopping malls, Local Pizza Shops, News Agents Friends and Family
- Libraries, civic and business organizations
- Scout and youth groups
- Churches
- TV, cable or radio stations, newspapers, and local magazines
- Schools, Colleges Universities
Suggestions on how they can participate:
- Extend invitations to clients/members/viewers/listeners/readers.
- Provide space for MySchoolAct posters/Noticeboards to promote your Act.
Make sure to recognize local contributors in all media releases, local performances, local radio. Everyone always likes to be thanked.
Once your sponsorship has been received, MySchoolAct will be in contact to upload your sponsors logo. Your sponsor can also nominate a local club, chosen charity or even a photo of their favourite pet?
Handy Hints for getting your Act Sponsored
Tell potential sponsors all about your Act and direct them to MySchoolAct.com and our Facebook page. Give them the opportunity to listen to your music or watch your video. It’s important to provide potential sponsors with lots of information. Tell them all about the prizes up for grabs for your Act and the sponsorship raised goes towards providing musical instruments and equipment for your school.
Get started by putting together a list of all your Friends & Family, businesses and the movers and shakers in your community. Here are some more Handy hints...
- Call a band meeting and put together a list of potential Sponsors
- Make a list of all your social circles, family and clubs. Timing is everything so prepare how and when to approach each group
- Shout about the MySchoolAct Competition. Let people know about the MySchoolAct Competition and that their sponsorship is helping your Act gain points whilst raising funds for Musical Instruments and equipment for the school
- Enlist the help of others - Encourage fellow members of your Act plus your family and friends to help
- Try and get some local PR for your Act. Prepare a press release and send it to local and regional newspapers, magazines, websites etc. If your school has a newsletter or website, write for that too. Keep it short and informative, include information about your Band and a link to the MySchoolAct . Don't forget to supply a great photograph. You've got a great news story to tell and you'd be amazed just how many people read these articles, and act on what they read!
- And finally… Fundraising is not as hard as you might think. It requires energy, a plan of action and time. Our advice is to enjoy it; smile, be positive, and don't forget to say thank you. If it starts to tail off, take a break and go back to it, re-invigorated and with new ideas.
